Tortoise and the Mock Turtle

The Gaussian-School of Higher-Arithmetic (1831, updated 2022); tutorial #13.

It seems to me like Lewis Carroll had clearly nailed it too.

The mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson did understand Gauss on rotation and that all of orthodox pure mathematical number theory was nonsense. He also understood what I now call qr, but he could not prove it. Dodgson died in 1898 aged only 65. It was only towards the end of his life, after the Michelson and Morley result in 1887, that he could have proved it, but by then his mathematical-mind was too frail. There is a sound recording of Dodgson speaking in terms that clearly demonstrated his understanding of what I now call Quantum-Relativity. All he left us with was his children's stories in which he explains the insanity of the pure mathematicians using his "Lewis Carroll" code language. "Tortoise" and "Mock Turtle" are codes for "pure mathematician", or rather code for a teacher who has been taught what to teach by the insanity of the so-called "pure mathematician's" orthodoxy of rotationally-challenged, "flat-earth-arithmetic".

Please now go back on into Alice's simple real world.
