In a nutshell, we can declare that with an exponentially based Universe such as we live in, absurd "flat-earth-arithmetic" (finger-counting-arithmetic) is not only highly confusing but definitely imposes many utterly debilitating intellectual limitations upon any Natural Philosopher or scientist. Please read and ponder upon the complex exponential number plane, it is a tough learning curve for anybody brought up on a never ending diet of the absurd, unnatural, abstract and artificial device called the (flat) complex numerical plane, but the conversion is well worth the effort.
